User guide for RAPIDStart

Add a RAPIDStart

From the Dashboard, click on the button New and select RAPIDStart.

Enter a name. You can change the name later in the edit page.

Select the BI Publisher connection, Application connections and the implementation project or leave empty to select later in case you do not have an Oracle instance yet.

You can only select connections with a Valid status.

Select the Oracle Application Product.

If you want to copy data from a previous RAPIDStart, select it from the list or leave empty.

Finally, click the Add RAPIDStart button to add the RAPIDStart in your list or Cancel to go back to the previous page.

Online questionnaire

Once created, you will be redirected to the first step of the RAPIDStart. Enter your data and remember to click Save to validate your information for each step.

There are 5 main steps in a RAPIDStart depending on the Oracle Application Product you selected. You can only go to the next step when all the substeps have been completed.

Add more configurations

In RAPIDStart step 4, you can add more setups to be included during the loading. Simply download the templates provided by Rapid4Cloud, and upload them.

To delete a file, hover on it and click on the delete icon.

Submit a RAPIDStart

You will be able to submit the RAPIDStart at the last step Loading.

Make sure that you have set the connections and implementation project correctly in the Edit page and click on Start loading.

Statuses

Status Description
DRAFT RAPIDStart is available for editing.
INITIATING RAPIDStart is creating the archive and has been placed into the queue.
PENDING RAPIDStart has been received and wait for a slot to run.
RUNNING RAPIDStart is running.
PAUSED RAPIDStart is waiting for an action.
RESUMING RAPIDStart is resuming the operations.
PREPARING Creating RAPIDClient for loading.
LOADING RAPIDStart is loading to the target instance.
COMPLETED RAPIDStart has been completed.
FAILED Something prevented the RAPIDStart to run. Contact us to try to fix it.
CANCELLED Job has been cancelled. Contact us to try to fix it.
ERROR RAPIDStart failed to be sent or retrieved. Contact us if you find this status.

Manual changes

Once the questionnaire and the BR100 are completed, RAPIDStart will change to PAUSED.

You will be asked to provide the manual changes to apply prior to the loading. Upload the changes or skip if you want to use the generated BR100.

Back to draft

This feature is very helpful if you have forgotten to add data or if you provided a wrong file.

Click on the Back to draft button to reset the RAPIDStart. Make the updates or upload new files and re-submit the RAPIDStart to generate a new questionnaire and BR100.

IMPORTANT You can only reset a RAPIDStart if it is in status PAUSED, FAILED, CANCELLED or ERROR.

Edit a RAPIDStart

From the list, click on the Edit link of the RAPIDStart to edit.

You can only edit the Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle App login and Implementation project if RAPIDStart is in status DRAFT.

How to use check out / check in

All RAPIDStart are available for your team, but only the owner of the RAPIDStart can Edit or Delete it.

To avoid any data corruption, only one user is allowed to update a RAPIDStart at the same time.

From the list, click on the Check out icon of the RAPIDStart to update.

You will be redirected to the last step of the RAPIDStart and your name will appear under the locked column.

If you already have checked out the RAPIDStart, simply click on the Resume link to continue the updates.

When you are done with the updates, click on the Check in icon from the list.

If a RAPIDStart has not been updated for more than 24 hours, it will be automatically checked in.

History

From the list, click on the History icon of the RAPIDStart to browse its history.

Delete a RAPIDStart

From the list, click on the Delete icon of the RAPIDStart to delete.

You can only delete a rollout if it is PAUSED, COMPLETED, FAILED, CANCELLED or ERROR.

IMPORTANT All data of the rollout will be permanently erased.
